Richard William (Bill) Burks, 66, passed away March 2nd, 2020. He was born in Council, Idaho on August 1, 1953.
Bill retired from Motorola Solutions in July, 2019, after 41 years of service.
He was pastor at Remembrance Seventh Day Baptist Church in Fort Worth from 2006 to Aug. of 2019.
Bill was a technician at the State of Utah in 1982. He attended United Electronics Institute in Dallas, Texas after graduating from Del Valle High School (1971) in Austin, Texas.
Bill attended Summit School of Theology in Colorado, as well as the Missionary Baptist Seminary, graduating in 2006 with a DBL--Doctorate of Biblical Languages.
As a member of the Cowtown Amateur Radio Club in Fort Worth, he enjoyed this hobby greatly.
He was also a member of the Sons of the Texas Republic.
Bill was well-traveled, but planned his retirement to be in Greenbrier, Arkansas, in order to be close to family. He settled in to his home of 2 years there after Thanksgiving where he lived until his passing.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, R.C. Burks; mother, Evelyn Smouse & step-father, Robert Smouse; sister, Barbara Burks; and son, William Ross Burks.
Bill left behind his wife of 40 years, Cynthia (Frieg) Burks; two sons: Eric (Deva) Burks and Carl (Leah) Burks; four grandchildren: Nova, Ronin, Ryker, and Reagan; sister, Gina Burks; and a host of family and friends.
Bill's memorial service will be held on March 14th at 11 a.m. at the Missionary Baptist Seminary @ 5224 Stage Coach Rd. in Little Rock, Arkansas.
