Richard Allan Garrett

Richard Allan Garrett, 77, of Vilonia passed away on September 22, 2026. He was born in Searcy, Arkansas on December 6, 1948, to the late Allan Garrett and Oma Ramsey Garrett Clayton.

Richard was a proud United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was a Christian and his faith was an important part of his life. His dedication to service continued throughout his life through his deep involvement with the Masonic fraternity. Richard was a Mason for 50 years and was a member of Sylvan Hills Lodge 754, a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the Scimitar Shrine. He served as Captain of the Motor Patrol Club and was a member of the Divan. His years of Masonic service were an important part of his life, and he treasured the friendships and brotherhood he found along the way.

Richard was a man who loved to live life to the fullest. He had a special love for his Harley-Davidson and the freedom that came with riding. Whether he was on the open road or spending time outdoors, Richard enjoyed every opportunity to be outside and enjoy life. He loved the water, especially fishing, and he could often be found enjoying the sunshine and the beach.

A true lover of the island lifestyle, Richard enjoyed Jimmy Buffett, Margaritaville, warm sunshine, and good times with friends and family. He especially loved hosting pool parties at the Tiki Hut, where there was always a place to gather, relax, laugh, and make memories. These gatherings were a reflection of Richard himself—fun-loving, welcoming, and always ready to enjoy a good time. Richard was also an avid fixer and tinkerer. There was little he wouldn't try to repair, improve, or figure out. He enjoyed working with his hands and had a natural ability to find a way to fix just about anything. He owned and operated Arkansas Sound Corporation in North Little Rock, Arkansas, a business that reflected his love of working with things and solving problems.

He was also a devoted Arkansas Razorbacks fan and enjoyed cheering on his beloved Hogs. But above all the hobbies, adventures, and accomplishments that filled his life, Richard loved his family dearly. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with them and treasured the memories they made together. His family was a special part of his life, and the time spent surrounded by those he loved meant more to him than anything.

Whether riding his Harley, fishing, spending time at the beach, hosting a pool party, working on a project, cheering on the Razorbacks, or simply enjoying time with his family, Richard knew how to make the most of life.

Richard leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, friendship, adventure, laughter, and love. He will be remembered for his love of the open road, the water, the sunshine, the Razorbacks, his Masonic brothers, and most of all, the people who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the rides taken, the laughter around the pool, and the many cherished moments with his family. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

He is survived by his children, Gary (Amanda) Garrett, Ryan Garrett, Kayla Long, Krystal (Sam) Booth; grandchildren, Caitlin Cruise, Katylin Garrett, Aliyah Garrett, Sam West, Braxton Long, Darcy Long, Liam Booth; several great grandchildren; siblings, Frank Garrett, Susan Garrett, Ronnie Garrett, Jimmy Garrett, Ted Garrett; He is survived by his former wife, Lori Wells, who remained a devoted caregiver and dear friend throughout his life. Their relationship continued beyond marriage, and she was a constant source of love, support, and companionship; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
