Richard Sherdon Gronke Sr., 69, of Greenbrier, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2024. He was born in Antigo Wisconsin on July 27, 1955, to the late Ralph and Lucille (Kratz) Gronke.
Richard (Rich) enjoyed planting flowers in the yard and gardening, hunting, woodworking and caring for his animals, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Rich was an amazing husband, dad, papa, and friend to everyone. He is a member of Sand Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger Gronke; sister, Sandra Posen; and daughter, Jamie Maxwell.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Kathy Gronke; three sons, Richard (Kim) Gronke of Luxemburg, Wisconsin, Bobby Gronke of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Adam (Lyndsi) Gronke of Green Bay, Wisconsin; daughters, Amanda Hooten and Angie Dowdy of Greenbrier, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren: Hayley Maxwell, Chelsi Kiefert, Cody Maxwell, Hannah Edwards, Lana Huss, Bradley Gronke, Max Hooten, Shiloh Maxwell, Brady Hooten, Hayden Phillips, Ella Gronke and Jack Gronke. Also cherishing his memory are his siblings, Bill (Sherry) Gronke of Merrill, Wisconsin, Lisa (Doug) Posen, Don (Tammy) Gronke and Cindy Gronke, all of Kewaunee, Wisconsin, and numerous friends and family. He was loved by many nieces and nephews who adored their uncle Rich.
The visitation will be held at Wilcox Family Funeral Home on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 from 4-6p.m. The funeral service will be held at Sand Springs Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, September 9th, 2024 at 10 a.m., with Brother Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating a graveside service to follow at Sand Springs Cemetery with lunch to follow after at the church.
