Richard Allen Martens, 60, of Bee Branch passed away on October 24, 2017. Richard was born on February 5, 1957 in Columbus, Nebraska to Harold Martens and Lucy Nansel Martens. Richard was of the Catholic faith and worked as a maintenance tech at SWN. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucy, his brother Phillip Martens, and his nephew Chris Martens. Richard is survived by his loving wife Jane Marie Martens, his four children, Shaunna(John) Murphree of Clinton, Latisha(Brandon) Carpenter of Damascus, Derrick(Jaycee) Martens of Clinton, and Brandon Martens of Bee Branch, four brothers, Larry Martens of Cave City, Joe Martens also of Cave City, Ron (Robin) Martens of Hot Springs and their three children, Clint, Hunter, and Matt, and Jim (Sally) Martens of Columbus, NE and their son Tyler, three sisters, Lori (James) McIntosh of Silver Creek, NE, Janet (Rodger) Bivens of Columbus, NE, and Sheri (Robert) Taylor of Grand Island, NE, Nephew Neil (Ashley) Bivens of Lincoln, NE, and two nieces, Michelle (Dan) Tschante of Columbus, NE and Kendra (Jonathan) Barnhardt of El Dorado. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Brady Murphree of Clinton, Gage Murphree of Clinton, Luke Murphree of Clinton, Jayden Carpenter of Damascus, and Braxton Carpenter of Damascus. A visitation for Richard will be on Thursday, October 26th from 6-8pm at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral service for Richard will be on Saturday, October, 28th at 10am also at the funeral home. Richard will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Colony Church of Christ Cemetery.
