Robert Ellsworth Wood Jr. 74, of Greenbrier passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday September 8, 2014. He was born January 8, 1940 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Robert E. and Bernadine Wood. Mr. Wood served his country in the United States Army doing tours of duty in Vietnam, Korea and Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years, Carol Kathleen Wood, two sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by sons Robert E. Wood III and his wife Regina of Greenbrier, Edward J. Wood of Greenbrier, Richard N. Wood of Paris, daughters Linda S. Kimberly and her husband Jim of Carthage, Texas, Jennifer K. Collins and her husband Doc of Gary, Texas, Rachel E. Wood of Greenbrier and Rebecca V. Wood of Greenbrier. Other survivors include seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday September 10, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Graveside services will be 10am Thursday September 11, 2014 at Springhill Cemetery with Bro. Ted Groves officiating.
