Robert Kennedy Claytor MD, 95 of Greenbrier passed away on December 8, 2016. He was born November 21, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Earl Claytor and Margaret May Kennedy.
He served in the United States Navy and was a World War II veteran. Bob was a very loving and compassionate caregiver. He really loved his calling in life as a doctor, especially delivering babies. He also was a prison doctor while maintaining his own private practice. Bob was adventurous and loved challenges and in his busy life, a volunteer of the sheriff's department, small town police, city council member, town Mayor and history museum volunteer and he at one time owned a small airplane and was a pilot. Bob enjoyed collecting stamps, Indian artifacts and medical antiques. He had many stories to tell and from them you could always sense he had a wonderful life. He loved and enjoyed his family very much and we as his family are truly grateful that he graced our lives and left us with the treasure of his memory. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
Survivors include his wife Judy Claytor of 36 years; brother, Richard Claytor (La Mesa, California); children, Lavonne Johnston (Greenbrier), Craig Claytor (San Diego, California), and Jan Christine Jerrue (Washington State). Other survivors include grandchildren James M. Johnston (Knoxville, TN), Jacob Johnston (Somerville, Massachusetts), Sarah Claytor (New Mexico), Sam Claytor (Portland, OR), Anna Lee Werkmeister (Montana), Gene Mazzanti (Washington), and Jessica Jerrue (Washinton); 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
