Rose Lee Gilliland 76 of Damascus died March 8, 2011. She was born December 28, 1934 in Fort Worth, Texas to Ernest Return Holt and Leona Scott Holt. She was of the Southern Baptist Faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Greenbrier.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years Garland Guy Gilliland, brothers John and Billie Holt, and a sister Ernestine Boyd.
Survivors include sons Hubert E. Gilliland of Great Falls, Montana, Dale S. Gilliland of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and daughter Karen D. Tompsett of Heber Springs, Arkansas. Other survivors include a sister Peggy Boswell of Fort Smith, Arkansas 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday March 11 from 9am to 8pm at Bishop-Griffin Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm. Services will be at 2pm Saturday March 12, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Greenbrier with Brother Sam Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Spires Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick McClelland, Gary Oldenette, Steve Stephens, Doug Green, Mike Cagle and Cecil Hall.
