Sammie Sue Wilson Lieblong, 92, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 9, 2025. She was born August 26, 1933, to the late Emory and Cora Matilda Glover Wilson. Sammie Sue graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1951; she attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas and Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas. Sammie Sue retired from Alltel Phone Company after serving 21 years as “Operator 15.” She loved and supported her children in all their endeavors. She looked forward to attending festivals to help Blake and Sally with Springhill Concessions and enjoyed going to their Arkansas Peddlers Antique Mall. She attended countless basketball games that Jan and Rick coached and made sure the officials were getting the calls correct. She cherished her pet dogs and collecting dishes and glassware. 

On August 10, 1952, Sammie Sue married Jimmy Lieblong and their marriage ended 65 years later upon Jimmy’s death in 2017. She was a member of Greenbrier United Methodist Church. She attended Springhill Baptist Church. Her favorite scripture was Romans 8:28; And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 

Sammie Sue is preceded in death by her parents Emory and Cora Wilson; husband Jimmy Lieblong; siblings and their spouses, Kitchell and Mary Lee Wilson, Mary Onedia and T.J. Johnson. 

She is survived by her children Blake (Sally) Lieblong of Greenbrier, and Jan (Rick) Ham of Harrison; brother-in-law, G.L. Lieblong; sister-in-law, Margaret Vann and Nancy Mallett; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

The family would like the thank Jordan Bass at Magnolia Landing for providing excellent care. The staff at Magnolia Landing; Annabelle, Alicia, Andrea, Amy, Melody, and Alyssa. Thank you to Gentiva Hospice nurses Natalie and Kathy.

A private family graveside service with be held at Republican Cemetery, Republican, Arkansas with Brother Ed Stephenson officiating.
