Sandra Faye Ellington

Sandra Faye Mardis Ellington, lovingly know to all as Sandy, 82, of Greenbrier, Arkansas gained her heavenly wings on Saturday, September 12, 2026. She was born on July 11, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Marcus Raymond Mardis and Erma Mildred Collins Mardis “Millie”.

Sandy claims to be a mere homemaker but if you knew her, she was much more. She’s been a high school secretary, caregiver, loving mother, sister, friend, and bonus mom/nana to those she meets. However, two of her greatest titles were Nana and Child of God.

Sandy had a spirit about her that was unwavering. Her determination, spunk, sass, and willpower was all driven by love. She often said, “ What you see, is what you get.” To know Sandy is to not only know, but also feel and be loved fiercely. Her love was not an ordinary love, but an unconditional one. She fully lived and treated others the way Christ commanded, so to know her and be loved by her meant she had already claimed you as hers and you were now part of the family.

One thing about Sandy is that she was always on the go, she never slowed down. She loved to travel with family and was always up for a spontaneous adventure… especially with her grandchildren.

If you spent enough time with her, then you knew the love she had for her family, the Lord, and you! She wanted to make sure people knew the Lord, so she shared about Him everywhere she went. She had such a servant’s heart when it came to sharing her testimony and how we should love one another. She was a bright light and will truly be missed.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Marcus and Erma Mardis.

She is survived by the love of her life, Clinton E. Ellington “Gene”. They would have shared their 57th wedding anniversary on September 27 of this year. She is also survived by her siblings Martha Whittington and Marcus Mardis II; her children, Trenten “Trent” Ellington (fiancé Amanda) and Millie LeAnn Bryant (Michael); Grandchildren Collin Engler, Cole Bryant, Kelsea Boyles (Brandon), Morgan Evans (Macen), Jaxen Bryant, and Maribeth Howerton; great grandchild Rowyn Fae Evans; along with a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be on September 18, 2026 at noon with funeral service services to follow at 1:00 at LifeSong Baptist Church. The family will have a private burial at Bethlehem Cemetery following.
