Sawyer Alton Steven Shirley

With hearts full of love and eyes full of tears, we celebrate the bright and beautiful life of Sawyer Alton Steven Shirley, who touched our world for seven wonderful years. Sawyer brought more love, laughter, and light in his short life than many do in a lifetime. Though he was only with us for a brief time, his joy and sweetness will echo in our hearts forever.

Sawyer was born November 8, 2017, in Conway, AR to Kayla Gillion and Michael Shirley.

He had a smile that could light up any room and a giggle that made even the hardest days lighter. Sawyer is known for his quirky sense of humor; he did not know a stranger. His love for sports cars, monster trucks, and power lines was something fierce. Sawyer loved to game with his brothers and cousins, color with his sister, and spend time with his siblings. Sawyer ate blue Doritos like they were going out of style, well that and waffles. He loved his Mama, and his best friend was his Daddy and his uncle.

He has now joined his grandfather, Steve Poteet; aunt, Isabella Broadaway; and cousin, Ryder Poteet.

Sawyer is survived by his mom, Kayla (Russell Garrett); dad, Michael Shirley; siblings, Brylee Cullum, Remington Gillion, Grayson Gillion, Roman Shirley, Nora Garrett, Noah Garrett, Clayton Garrett, Sheylbee Garrett, Raylee Garrett, and Chevy Garrett; grandparents, Brett and Trina Broadaway, Michael and Christie Gillion, and Michael and Dawn Heymach-Shirley; aunts, Meagan Reynolds and Destiny Poteet; uncles, Chris Shirley and Lennon Graham; cousins, Rhettson Shirley and Harley Poteet; great grandmother, Katie Shirley; great aunt and great uncle, Floyd and Michelle Brooks; along with many other loving great grandparents, great aunts, great uncles, and cousins.

There will be a Memorial Service in Sawyer's honor on Sunday, June 29th at Wilcox Family Funeral Home, at 2:00 pm. The family requests that everyone wear Sawyer’s favorite colors green or red, and anything to do with his favorite thing, cars.
