At the age of 53, Scott Dwayne Key passed away on June 30th, 2023 at 4:20 pm following his protracted battle with cancer.
He’s survived by his wife April Key, three daughters Brittany Vance, Summer Young and Kaitlyn Key as well as a son, Corey Key. He was a proud Papa to soon to be seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Micheal Key and sister Dana Leason. He was preceded by his mother Metha Jean, father Laurel Key, and brother Larry Key.
Scott was born in Conroe, Texas and was proud of it, but loved making Arkansas his home. Scott never turned away from learning something new and proved it in the multiple career paths he chose. He hung and welded signs across the US which remain today, a monument and testimony to his hard work. As an underwater welder, his career took him to places unimaginable or explored by many in the deepest depths of the ocean. Finally, as he braved new adventures as a computer technician and certified IT professional, he proved without a doubt that he was truly capable of excelling at any venture or challenge life put in his path.
Scott lived his life and loved his family and friends boldly and without reservation. He exemplified what it meant to be a kind and loving husband, reliable and honest friend, and compassionate and caring father. Scott lived every facet of his life to the fullest. He was spontaneous and never did anything halfway, from his hobbies to the way he loved you.
Throughout his life, Scott had many hobbies that brought him joy and happiness. Some of these include scuba diving, bee keeping, guns and munitions, golfing, jewelry making, coin collecting, computer coding, disc golfing, barbecuing, astronomy, kayaking, fly fishing, beer and wine making, and most importantly making his wife the happiest person on earth.
As we celebrate Scott’s genuine and awe-inspiring life, he would want us to smile, laugh and remember the moments he shared with us and the cherished memories made.
Scott, we will miss you more than words can explain. We will continue to love others the way you loved us; fully and with no reservation.
