Seldon D. Shaw, 76 of Quitman, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2026. He was born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on September 20, 1949, to Charles “Doc” Shaw and Luda Winter Shaw.

Seldon attended school in Quitman, Arkansas, and later went on to work as a lineman for First Electric Cooperative in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He was known as a hard worker and took pride in whatever job he was doing. No matter the task, Seldon gave it his all and worked diligently throughout his life.

Seldon truly loved the outdoors and was happiest when he was outside. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a passion for growing crops and vegetables. He also took pride in helping keep his community clean, often picking up along the roads and caring for the areas around him. Mowing and working outdoors were things he genuinely enjoyed and spent much of his time doing.

He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Before his health declined and he was no longer able, Seldon would help anyone he could, never hesitating to step in when someone needed assistance. His generous spirit and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on those around him.

He also loved grilling and smoking meat. It didn’t matter who it was for—family, friends, or neighbors—Seldon simply loved sharing good food with others. He was known for his generosity and the joy he found in cooking for people.

Seldon loved his fur babies and enjoyed spending time with them. They brought him comfort and companionship, and he cared for them deeply.

In his downtime, Seldon enjoyed watching western movies and listening to old country music. More than anything, he loved people. He was a true people person who enjoyed conversation, telling stories, and making others laugh.

Seldon will be remembered for his kindness, his sense of humor, and his love for the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and everyone whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by parents, and brother Lonnie Shaw.

Seldon is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Brenda Shaw; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
