Sheila Annette Hicks, 80, of Conway, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on October 5, 2026. She was born on May 28, 1946, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Robert “Bob” Green and Mildred Ally Smith Green.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert “Bob” Green Jr.

Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Stephen Hicks; children, Shera (Michael) Worm, Melissa Kirby-Story; grandchildren, Kolby Moore, Maleah (Brady) Stanton, Kaya Kirby, Adien Cook; siblings, Linda Green, Ida Meagher, Royce Weaver, Dale Weaver, Lisa Schaffer, Christine Klug; and a host of family and friends.

Sheila was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was taking care of others. She had a generous heart, a wonderful sense of hospitality, and a way of making everyone around her feel welcome and loved. To her family, Sheila was truly the glue that held everyone together.

She married the love of her life, Stephen Hicks, in 1997. Together they shared many wonderful years and countless memories. Sheila especially loved riding motorcycles with Stephen, enjoying the freedom of the open road and the adventures they shared together. When vertigo eventually prevented her from riding, she still cherished those memories and the time they had spent traveling together.

Cooking was Sheila's passion, and feeding people was one of the ways she showed her love. She became a familiar and beloved part of the Faulkner County community through her work in the restaurant business. She began working alongside her father by delivering pizzas and even earned her driver's license so she could help him with deliveries. She eventually took over Bob's Grill from her father and continued its legacy before selling the restaurant in 1995.

Sheila opened The Green Cow Cafe, where she continued doing what she loved most—cooking, serving others, and bringing people together. She owned and operated The Green Cow Cafe until 2012. The restaurant became more than a place to eat; it was a gathering place where family, friends, and many people she met along the way could make memories together.

Sheila loved hosting family gatherings at the restaurant. She was always busy making sure everyone else had been taken care of before she would ever sit down to eat herself. She wanted everyone to have a plate, a place to sit, and everything they needed before she thought about herself. Being the host brought her great joy, and caring for others came naturally to her.

Outside of the restaurant, Sheila enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. She also had a creative side and was a talented writer. One of her poems was published in a book, a special accomplishment that reflected her love of words and her thoughtful spirit.

Sheila loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and her granddogs. She treasured time spent with the people she loved and made lasting memories with so many who crossed her path throughout her life. She fished a lot with her daddy and she used to fish quite a bit with her grandson, Kolby when he was little! She enjoyed traveling to Branson and Eureka Springs to visit family, always finding joy in being together and making another memory.

Sheila's life was defined by love, generosity, hard work, and hospitality. She had a gift for bringing people together and making them feel at home. Whether she was preparing a meal, working a crossword puzzle, traveling to see family, hosting a gathering, or simply spending time with those she loved, Sheila made an impact on the lives around her.

Her family will forever cherish the memories she created and the love she gave so freely. She was the heart of many gatherings, the keeper of countless family memories, and the glue that held her family together. Sheila will be deeply missed, but the love she shared and the memories she made will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Memorial service will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home with Brother Freddie Mark Wilcox officing.
