Sherry Kay Parks of Conway, Arkansas, passed into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on the evening of March 15, 2025. She was a soldier for the Kingdom of God and a mighty prayer warrior for her family and friends.

Sherry was born in Myrtle Missouri to Arthur and Alantha Kellog on May 29th, 1937. She graduated from West Plains, Missouri High School in May of 1955 and married James Marvin Parks in October of 1956. Her husband entered military service and soon after they were stationed in Honolulu Hawaii where Sherry began raising her 3 children, Mike, Michelle and Marvin.

After his tour in Hawaii, they lived the typical military life, moving between various military posts with his last duty station being the State College of Arkansas (UCA). When her husband died in 1974 Sherry stayed in Conway, went back to school and earned her Masters degree in Sociology.

After graduating she went to work for Southwestern Bell and AT&T until her retirement in 2002.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Alantha Kellog; her loving husband of 18 years, James Marvin Parks; her grandson, Benjamin Parks and her great granddaughter, Olivia Rhyne.

Sherry is survived by her three children, Michael (Sandy) Parks, Michelle (Lonnie) Teague of Wyoming, Marvin (Kristi) Parks; grandchildren, Rachel (Blake) Parker, Molly (Sam) Burnett, Travis Parks, Katie (Josh)Reynolds, Mary Teague, Sarah (Seth) Patterson, Anna (Matt) Westerman, James (Janelle) Parks II, Timothy (Emily) Parks, Sharon (Daniel) Rhyne, Lydia (Jimmy) Curtis, Edith Parks, and Esther Parks; great grandchildren, Cotten and Ryce Parker, Delta and Amos Burnett, McKenzie Reynolds, Silas and Jacob Patterson, Judah, Eleanor, Elaine, Elisabeth, and Elise Westerman, Selah, Jedidiah, Eden, and Finn Parks, Ruth, James Antonin, William, and Talia Parks, Hope, James Henry, and Harvey Curtis and Margaret (Meg) Rhyne: Siblings; Dennis (Denise) Copeland and Garry (Kim) Copeland; and a host of family and friends.

Sherry was an active member of Central Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a member of the church choir. She was active in the Arkansas Republican Women, the Beta Sigma Phi Women’s sorority, several women’s Bible studies and TOPS.

Sherry never met a stranger, never knew an enemy and everyone that knew her loved her. She loved her morning drives to McDonalds, watching Hallmark movies and meeting up with her friends at their favorite restaurants. She loved being a part of the Conway community and helping others. Sherry’s greatest love though was her family. She loved time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hers was a life well lived.

thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

The family would like to thank everyone at Magnolia Landing in Greenbrier as well as the Bass family for the tender loving care they gave to our mother this last year.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas.

Funeral will be at 9:00am on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Central Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas with Pastor James Marvin Parks II and Brother Don Chandler officiating and burial following at Little Rock National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lonnie Teague, James Parks, Tim Parks, Blake Parker, Sam Burnett, Jimmy Curtis, Matt Westerman, Seth Patterson, and Daniel Rhyne.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Linn, Bruce Bell, Jeff Courtway, Jerry Delatte, Steven Delatte, Bryon Delatte, Jeffery Delatte, Christopher Delatte, Jennifer Holt, Mark Thomas, Josh Reynolds, and Travis Parks.
