Sherry Iwanna Sutterfield, first born child of S.B. and Clydean Echols, born in Big Springs, Texas, March 16th, 1946, left behind her earthly body, peacefully at home in Conway, Arkansas, surrounded by her family on January 7th, 2025, after winning her 8 year battle against Angiosarcoma Cancer.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Eddie Sutterfield, and 4 children: Carmen West-Burns of Conway, Arkansas; Tonya and Danny Trull of Eupora, Mississippi; Kimberly Parks and Fiance Ryan of Conway, Arkansas; Gerren and Loni Sutterfield of Mt. View, Arkansas. She is survived by 12 Grandchildren: Mitchell Ussery, Mac West, Austin and Kristin Ussery, Ashleigh and Austin Yeager, Madelyn West, Augustus Sutterfield, Colby Lankford, Tate Farris, Silas Sutterfield, and Dayne Farris. She also is survived by 8 Great-Grandchildren: Asher Ussery, Avery Ussery, Ezra Ussery, Ella Jones, Liam Yeager, Sophia Craig, Elias (Chip) Yeager, and Colsen (Coco) Sutterfield. She was awaiting the arrival of her 9th, Autumn West. She is also survived by her two brothers, Randy and Peggy Echols of Leslie, Arkansas; and Tom Echols of Leslie Arkansas, along with a host of other family and friends who she loved dearly.
Waiting for her in Heaven, she was greeted by her parents, S.B. and Clydean Echols, her baby boy, her first grandson Nicolas West, two of her brothers, Flynn and David Echols, and her niece Krystal Echols along with a grand reunion of many other family members who had crossed the Jordan before her.
Sherry was a graduate of Des Arc High School of 1964. She loved her classmates like family. She was a butcher in her younger years, working for Simon’s Grocery and Round Mountain Meat Packing Company. Later she worked at Target Distribution Center in the warehouse and office where she made many lifelong friends. In her later years, she started a trucking escort business, Iwanna Escort You, Inc. where she got to travel the states and see the beauty of God’s landscapes.
She was a member of Legacy of Faith Church where she was steadfast in her faith and an inspiration to each and every member. She was a special lady who was quiet, precious, sweet, and strong. Mama was a rare gem who was a warrior and overcomer of everything that she faced. She was a true and faithful servant all her life, and leaned heavily on her faith and the promises of the Lord, our Heavenly Father.
Pallbearers will be her son and grandsons: Gerren Sutterfield, Mac West, Austin Ussery, Augustus Sutterfield, Colby Lankford, Tate Farris, Silas Sutterfield, and Dayne Farris.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her great grandsons: Asher Ussery, Ezra Ussery, Liam Yeager, Elias (Chip) Yeager, and Colsen (Coco) Sutterfield.
Additional Honorary Pallbearers will be the Des Arc High School Class of 1964.
Her celebration of life will be as follows: Visitation will be Sunday, January 12th, from 4-6 at Wilcox Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Her final See-ya Later, will be Monday, January 13th, at Wilcox Funeral Home in Greenbrier at 11:00 with her earthly body being laid to rest following at Pine Grove Cemetery on Trace Ridge in Leslie, Arkansas.
