Susan Dorado, age 79, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in her own home.
She was born on January 6, 1947, in McAlester, Oklahoma in Pittsburg County, and from an early age carried a deep love for music that shaped her life. Susan was a talented musician and vocalist, performing as a bass player and singer in a band called The Crew. Music was not simply a hobby—it was her passion. She adored performing, singing, and sharing her gift with others
Susan was also a wife, sister, and mother, but she was most proud of being a grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the heart of her family and found her greatest happiness in the lives she helped shape. She was proceeded-in death by her parents, Francis and Elmer Epps; her late husband, Jay Dorado; her late son, Jacob Dorado; as well as 1 sister, Betty Epps; and three brothers, Arlee Epps, Ray Epps, and Earl Epps. She is survived by her children, Nick Dorado, and Teresa Dorado, her siblings, Lee (Connie) Epps, and Mary Gibson; her 10 grandchildren, Nicolas (Alex) Dorado; Daniel (Alicia) Dorado; Jacob Dorado; Candace Dorado, Christopher Dorado, Courtney Dorado, Bella Dorado, Kaden Dorado , Kylee Dorado, and Addie Dorado, and great grandchildren, David Dorado, Olivia Dorado, Chase Dorado, and Marshal Dorado , and a host of family, friends, and loved ones all of whom carry forward her love, strength, and spirit.
In her final moments, Susan was surrounded by the sounds of life she helped create—listening to her grandchildren play, reflecting the love and passion that defined her journey. Her legacy lives on through her music, her family, and the memories she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
“I know it won’t be easy, they’ll be times not well, when we’re sad, workin it out, so it won’t be so bad, something are better left unsaid” Sue Dorado (The Crew)
