Terry D. Tinder passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. He died from complications stemming from his military service in Vietnam and being exposed to Agent Orange. He served in the US Marines Corp from 1962-1966 followed by many years in the USMC reserves and the USAF reserves.
Terry was a 1961 graduate from Pittsboro High School in Pittsboro, Indiana. Terry worked in the HVAC field and owned his own business, Tinder & Sons Heating and Cooling in Lebanon, Indiana. He worked at Henderix College in Conway, Arkansas and taught HVAC at Vatterott College in Wichita, Kansas.
Terry took a couple of years off from the HVAC field to pursue an adventure with his wife Patty setting up ice skating rinks across the US, Mexico and Canada for Nutcracker on Ice and the World Cup Champions on Ice.
Mr. Tinder was preceded in death by his parents Donald Tinder and Margaret (Mace)Tinder and an older sister Leah Ann Tinder. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Patricia (Merrill)Tinder Conway, AR; daughter Teresa Ann Barnes (Ted) Conway, AR; son Donald David Tinder (Barbara) Wichita, KS; son Christopher Bryant Tinder Conway, AR; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 sisters Donetta Robertson and Myrna Smith (Richard).
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church, 1610 Prince St. Conway, AR 72034 on Thursday, May 9, 2019 2pm.
