Thomas Vangilder
November 19, 1967 — April 17, 2021
Thomas Vangilder, age 53, passed away on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at his home in Conway, Arkansas.
Thomas is survived by his son, Hayden Vangilder; his daughter, Haley Taylor (Vangilder); his siblings, Kevin Brents, Tammy Rexford (Vangilder), and Donna (Vangilder) Howard; and his grandson, Lincoln Taylor. He is predeceased by his mother, Claudia Vangilder (Brents), his grandparents and many aunts and uncles whom he adored.
Thomas was an amazing dad, brother and friend to many. He was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He worked at Conway Country Club for 25+ years as a groundskeeper of the course. He was well skilled in gardening and enjoyed tending to his blackberries, flowers and various seasonal vegetables. He enjoyed being outside and spent most of his waking hours working in his yard as well as the yards of friends and family members. He had been battling stage four lung cancer since December of 2019. As a strong-willed dad, he made and accomplished his goals to see his son graduate, walk his daughter down the aisle, become a “T-paw” and hold his first grandchild. He will forever be loved and missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on May 1st, at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home, 108 N Broadview Street in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
