Valerie Ann Essex, age 63, of Guy, Arkansas stepped into GLORY on January 25, 2026. She was born April 18, 1962, in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Raymond A. Bonnie and Verna I Kline.

Valerie loved Jesus deeply, her favorite thing to do was attend church with her family and worship the Lord. She did not just “attend” church. She served others in her church family, even when she was too sick to attend services or fiercely protecting her family from getting sick in a crowd, she was a prayer warrior. She may not be able to be in your presence, but if she met you, she prayed for you specifically.

Valerie used her talents to help serve others through baking and cooking only dishes with the BEST flavors, taking care of animals in need and giving a home to so many animals (including 7 dogs of her own). She will also be remembered for her talented crafting and sewing, making junk journals, cards or painting pictures to lift someone’s spirits.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Linda Kline, Sharon (James) Kuhn, Marvin Kline; daughter, S’mara Essex; stepdaughter, Lindsay Sniadeki; and sister-in-law, Joni Essex.

Valerie is survived by her loving husband Tracy Essex who loved her dearly and worked with her to care for their children, Rachel Essex, Tanner Essex, Tyler Essex, Timothy Essex, and Emily Essex. Together Valerie and Tracy lead their children in the ways of the Lord. Valerie also leaves behind her grandchildren, Chase Kline, Mariah (Laythan) Slate, Haedyn Essex, David Essex and Ed Essex; great grandchildren, Graeson Slate, Rylie Slate and Kolt Slate; siblings, Marjorie Mikesell, Suzanne (Mahmoud Odeh) Kline Loftin, Karen (David) Pedzinski, Jack (Veronica) Kline, Shawn Michael (Sharon) Kline; sister-in-law, Patti Essex; numerous nieces and nephews.

Her legacy will live on in her family and friends, and she will always be remembered as someone who loved Jesus and loved others. She firmly believed that if she was able to give, she would give it and God would provide for all needs in His perfect timing.

Valerie is now seeing God’s power in healing firsthand as she heard “well done, good and faithful servant.” Valerie has fought the good fight; she has finished her course; she has kept the faith. Now, she has received her crown in glory and will worship His name forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Faulkner County Human Society.
