Vince Edward Akins

Vince Edward Akins, age 62, of Conway, passed away on May 8, 2026. Born on September 12, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, Vince was a man characterized by his service, his sharp wit, and his dedication to his family. 

Vince was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army, with assignments taking him to Germany and Colorado. Following his service, he pursued further education by attending college to become a nurse. Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, he enjoyed martial arts and was cherished by those who knew him for his infectious sense of humor. 

He was preceded in death by his father, JC Akins, and his beloved wife, Dawn Akins. Vince’s legacy lives on through his mother, Jackie Cook, and his children, Jamilynn Akins, Jacob Akins, Braydon Akins, and Nikki Lee. He is also survived by two grandchildren, his siblings Shane Akins, Niana Clay, Chip Johnson, and Jaimy Johnson, as well as many other relatives and dear friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
