Wanda Deeter Haywood passed from this life on June 24, 2023. She was born on Petit Jean Mountain in May 1928, the eighth of nine children to Roy and Zula Deeter.
She was a devoted wife and mother and served as church secretary to 8 United Methodist Ministers at Amboy and Levy Methodist churches over the course of 20+ years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Haywood; precious daughter, Susan Haywood Lunday; her parents, mentioned above; sisters, Mabel, Virginia, Melba, Merle and brothers, Tamadge, Lansing, Fletcher.
Survivors include her sister, Johnnye Deeter Heaton (Jim); her 4 children, Janet Casavan (Claus), Mark Haywood, Van Haywood and Ann Wilcox (Shawn); son-in-law, Gene Lunday; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Haywood; grandchildren, Alyssa Smith, Ryan Casavan (Rae), Sherri Haywood Denton (Jamie), Taylor Wilcox, Kaylee Wilcox, and Brady Wilcox; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
A special thanks to her wonderful neighbors, the Binz and Shelby families, for all their time and effort in maintaining the beautiful of El Paso Haywood (Wanda’s yard) as well their input in solving out country’s political and cultural issues with Wanda.
A memorial service will be at 11:00am on July 8, 2023 at Friendly Chapel, 116 S. Pine Street, North Little Rock, AR 72114. In lieu of flowers, all memorials are requested to be made to the Friendly Chapel in North Little Rock, AR.
