Wayne was truly a humble hero in his community with three main passions in life: Faith, Family and Firefighting. He and his family attended First Baptist Church in Wooster where he served as deacon for many years. He served for thirty-four years as a volunteer firefighter for the Wooster community including ten years as chief. He gladly served the Conway Fire Department for twenty-three years as Engineer. During that time, he established new classes as an advocate for Cancer Awareness within the fire service. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, riding horses and playing sports with his kids. However, Wayne's greatest joy was his role as "Papa" to his four beautiful grandchildren who had his heart.
