Whit Genson Dean

Whit Genson Dean, 62, of Greenbrier, AR passed away on January 10, 2024. He was born on September 27, 1961, in Memphis, TN to the late Vernon Dean and Margaret Neal.
Whit graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1979 and worked for the City of Greenbrier for 20 years. He loved being an umpire and did that for over 30 years. Whit also refereed basketball for his little town of Greenbrier for 25 years. He loved watching the Razorbacks, playing poker, watching the horse races, going on cruises, cooking, and mostly spending time with his girls and grands.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lou Dean; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Whit is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cathy; his daughters, Whitney O’Dell (Dustin), and Marisa Berry (Michael); his grands, Rilyn, MaKenlee, Emma, and Jaxon; his brother, Keith Dean; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Whit’s service will be held Saturday, January 13th at LifeSong Baptist Church, at 10:00 am, and visitation will be on Friday, January 12th at Wilcox Family Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
