William Leon Cross

William Leon Cross, 88, of Conway, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on August 22, 2026. He was born in Neal, Arkansas on October 11, 1937, to A.L. Cross and Edna Moore Cross.

Leon passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Leon married the love of his life, Marie, on February 16, 1961. Together, they shared many wonderful years of marriage and built a life filled with love, family, and memories that will remain close to their hearts.

Leon dedicated 31 years of his life to Chrysler Corporation before retiring. He took pride in his years of hard work and commitment.

One of Leon’s greatest joys was spending time with friends. He especially enjoyed their visits and the conversations, laughter, and companionship they brought into his life. He treasured the simple moments spent with the people who meant so much to him.

Leon will be remembered for the life he shared with Marie, his years of hard work, and the friendships he made along the way. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Avery Lewis Cross and Edna Moore Cross; siblings, Melvin Cross, and Larry Joe Cross.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie Cross; one daughter, Tina (Mark) Schaeufele of Rome, Georgia; two grandchildren, Melissa Schaufele of Rome, Georgia, and Daniel (Emily) Schaeufele of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; two great grandchildren, Treyton Schaeufele and Charles Schaufele; sisters, Imogene Gentry of Benton, Arkansas, Joyce Crocker of Benton, Arkansas and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Wilcox Family Funeral Home.

Graveside will be at 2:00pm on Friday, August 28, 2026, at New Summit Cemetery, Benton.
